R K Burt is a paper merchant based in London and every year they let the Interactive Design course from Lincoln University use their Gallery space to show their work. I was part of the team that set up the show, mainly in the design of the flyers and basically a helping hand when it came to setting up the gallery.
The show was called ‘Shout’ and featured work from our ‘Freedom of speech’ brief that we had completed before hand. I featured my Blood Money artwork. The other interesting element to the show was that we could sell our work to anyone who wish to own a piece. This was a real chance to find out how much our work was to the real world.
Despite not being involved in much design work on this project I thought it was a great insight into how much effort goes into creating a show for the general public. Nothing can be assumed, not even the types of hooks used to hang the artwork.
