This was a piece of art that was to coincide with the ‘Shout’ exhibition at the R K Burt Gallery in London.
I wanted to go for a quite a suggestive approach of giving the idea of what money really means to todays society. Everyone says that ‘it always boils down to money’, but what could that be? Could it be oil or the fuel that makes todays world move, or could it be blood as in the actual cost of a living person?
I created the work by getting hold of an old leather wallet and covering/chucking black paint at it. This was all done on a white backdrop and photographed throughout to capture as much as possible so it could be carefully selected later. The final prints were in colour on an off-white thick paper.
