Heartless
The task was to produce 10 posters with a situationist theme. Situationism was an art movement that wanted to cause or provoke a response from the viewer, in other words a situation. My angle on this was to select a subject I felt strongly about and give it a strong metaphorical image. I chose to convey the idea that the media today is a heartless form of literature. I used pieces of old literature and cut out a heart shaped hole out of them.
The result I feel is really powerful and gets across what I wanted to say. Not only this but they also work really well as simply a piece of art. The final prints were printed onto A2 sheets of thick textured paper.
