Three Minute Doodle was one of my personal experiment projects I took on after getting inspired from a brief supplied at university, which featured the idea of 3 minutes. I drew upon my talents to find the most expressive way to utilize the 3 minutes. Before I became interested in design I use to practise illustration and with this ability I planned to use the 3 minutes to illustrate something creative and individual.
I got myself a note pad and pencil and set up a filming rig to film myself using these 3 minute, the videos were then speeded up to 1 minute. The drawings came from scribbling a random swirl on the paper and then crafting it into some physical thing. The results were very interesting was really good exercise. It was all documented on a website I put together for it called Three Minute Doodle and featured all the pieces I did over a 2 week period, creating one ‘doodle’ every day. Each post included a 3 minute video sped up to 1 minute and an image of the final piece.
