The design and development of an online portfolio for Graphic Designer & Photographer Jamie Gregson. The aim of the design was to be clean, clear and simple to navigate. This would mean the work could be presented in the best way possible, without the site being distracting. The result was a minimal design that lets the photography and design work take central stage, but also has a navigation that the viewer can easily use.
For this project I took on the development as well as the design. After sketches, mock ups, and a final approved design I then translated the design into HTML and CSS. After the framework had been established I then installed WordPress and linked the ‘front end’ code with the WordPress CMS. I finally added custom elements to the CMS to fit the design.
Adding a CMS (Content Management System) gave Jamie full control over his website, letting him add projects and content with ease but also giving him other options such as choosing a heading project, or just a grid of projects.
